Here’s an event that’s not Cinco de Mayo related, however, it’s still a party/event so it’s very worth mentioning. It also involves Alliance For Affordable Energy and their Annual Meeting. I’ll definitely be there since they’ve just asked me to serve on their Board and it will be announced tonight.

Alliance annual meeting Tuesday, May 5, 2009 @ 6:00 pm in the atrium of the Art Egg Building.

Bring a Bottle and a Buddy! – On May 5, at 6:00 pm in the atrium of the Art Egg Building we will be holding our annual meeting.  Our keynote speaker will be City Council Member Shelly Midura who will discuss future energy efficiency plans for the City of New Orleans.

A $12 entrance fee will help pay for the lavish appetizers and the Tom Sancton Band, and help sustain us in our work.  Alliance members will be asked to vote to accept a slate of new board members.  Additionally, we will be releasing our annual report, thanking our Advisory Committee, our funders and generally praising the hard work of all of our staff.

Proposed slate of incoming board members, with the date they joined the board:

Sallie Davis, J.D., President (2003)
David L. Dalia (new)
Pam Dashiell (2007)
Tina Freeman (2007)
Tom Lowenburg (1985)
Doug Meffert (2007)
Julianna Padgett (new)
Cherylyn L. Tompkins (new)
Lea Young (2001)

So by now, you should’ve guessed that the party doesn’t stop in FabuNOLA . . . it’s just a matter of balancing out all there is going on ;D!! As always, hoping to see you . . . out and about.

It’s Jazz Fest 2009!!! Happy Fest to ALL!!

Well, it’s that time of year again . . . New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest 2009 (40 Year Anniversary). I’ve been busily clicking away to add as much content as possible. I apologize in advance if your event wasn’t listed in time. I do work the Festival and can only get to it in between working the Fest, adding events and the rest of my mega-social (or so it sometimes seems) life. But in FabuNOLA, whose isn’t, right!! If you aren’t busy from all of the social activities going on here . . . your not doing it right ;D.

Click on the Jazz Fest 2009 Categories on the side and check out what you can. Also, be sure to come and check out Fredy Omar’s show on Friday, May 1st, 2009. Fredy is such a great performer and his shows are definitely ones to catch. This year’s performance will have a special guest salsa dancing with the Latin Soul dance troupe . . . ME!!!!

I was just asked to dance last Friday for this Friday’s upcoming show. I’m so excited, I’m telling everyone . . . and that means YOU ;D!! So, I do hope you can make it out from 11:25 – 12:25 pm on Friday, May 1st to catch Fredy Omar con su Banda (and Me) on the Gentilly Stage. Bring a camera to take some pics for me and send since I can’t take them while dancing ;D. And I hope to see your lovely faces dancing out there too!!

Many blessings & love (always).
