NO Sexy Salsa Sundays Tonight
&
FabuNOLA Shifts Focus
(Hope You Do Too!!)
~~
and yet, there’s still MORE (listed below) …

Hello My FabuNOLA Family!!!

I wanted to connect to let you know about a few updates for this weekend, as well as some new upcoming events I’ve listed for this month. First, Sexy Salsa Sundays is taking a break (okay, I should just say that I’m really getting the opportunity to shift my focus back to all the many other things I have to take care of) this weekend/tonight because the venue is being used for a private event tonight. Also, Filming is going on downstairs next weekend so I have to decide during the week whether or not it’s feasible to move things upstairs or just continue with the break since I’ll be heading out of town the following week for work. This summer is heating up indeed.

Although I didn’t want to take off this long, I think it’s okay to admit when to take some well needed time for self is in order for relaxation, reflection and rejuvenation (and I think it’s safe to say that we’re all feeling this right now). Shifting the focus back to what is in total alignment with true happiness is the main priority.

And, of course, I’ll keep you posted. And, with the exception of anyone wanting to pay to advertise/sponsor FabuNOLA right now, I’m going to take a little break from sending out emails (unless I’m giving you the Salsa updates I mentioned). I did list several events in this issue to hold you over while I take this time to focus back within, in order to move forward … positively. So I hope you enjoy what I’ve listed on the June FabuNOLA Happenings List (below). Plus, on July 7, 2010, mark your calendars for a FabuNOLA pairing with “Wednesdays at the Point” to present Fredy Omar con su Banda performing LIVE. See details below.

Since we are recognizing the Memorial Holiday this weekend in this country, I hope that everyone getting the opportunity to participate utilizes this time for greater reflection from within, especially with so many transitions going on. All of the conversations I’m having with individuals now entail a need for deeper internal connection (to themselves & others) while overcoming many challenges … gracefully. And yes, we are all going through many challenges.

This is a good thing though (no matter how challenging the challenges seem) as we are shifting towards greater heights coming in the near future. What’s making things more challenging is that a lot of this means releasing things that are no longer working for us (no matter how much we think they mean … or have meant to us). Letting go in order to gain deeper inner clarity, perspective and purpose as we move forward is key. Making room for the greater gifts of abundance to come, even if that means getting more time for YOU right now is okay … actually, it’s essential.

It’s time to move forward for a brighter future to be uncovered and, in some cases, discovered (and awakened for the first time). So what are you waiting for? Take the leap of faith in order to lift yourself up and out of the challenges being presented to you (yes, to all of us) right now. I created this quote while giving advice for a friend going through challenges earlier this week: “Make Your Move … Make Your Mark!!” And I hope you do this as well. The time for all great things to be created, uncovered, discovered, awakened, manifested … is NOW. Time is of essence. Your Life is waiting on You to catch up with YOU!!!

If you are new to FabuNOLA, please check out my Blog with past postings.

The FabuNOLA Blog has a brand new look (which I’m still tweaking a bit). Also, go there to check out the “FabuNOLA It List” and “Eco-FabuNOLA”  that you can see posted regularly (please direct new people here … and ask them to sign-up for this eNewsletter too). My Blog lists Music, Dance, Wellness & Eco Happenings. More will be posted/updated as I can get to it.

If you are new to the FabuNOLA Family, welcome to the FabuFamily!! You are amongst a FabuKrewe of Great Beings … all striving for greater happiness from within. We are all beautifully inter-connected in this way. You are always loved and supported here. I greatly appreciate you for the support you’ve always shown me in return!! I’m wishing you only and all of the best.

Okay, that’s it for now. Until the next time … I’ll see You on the Page or in Person! And tell them FabuNOLA sent YOU. As always … here’s hoping to see You … Out & About!!

Be & Live Well,

Cherylyn

ART & COPY

Art & Copy poster

A powerful film about advertising and inspiration, Art & Copy introduces the cultural visionaries who revolutionized advertising during the industry’s golden age by creating slogans to live by and ads we all remember. Exploding forth from advertising’s “creative revolution” of the 1960s, these artists and writers all brought a surprisingly rebellious spirit to their work in a business more often associated with mediocrity or manipulation.

Directed by Doug Pray. USA. 2009. 89 min.

I’ll leave you with these Words of Encouragement:

“One of the fascinating things about human beings is this:  Believe for long enough that you are not as smart as others and this will actually lead to intellectual ineptitude.  But, confronted with the same doubts, if you choose to believe that your mind is merely dormant for now, lacking in exercise, once you begin to train it, there are no bounds to what you can achieve.”

  1. Hello,
I want to let you know that a new salsa latin jazz group will be performing at the French Quarter Pizzeria (Decatur and Iberville) this Friday night beginning at 10pm. The group is called “Influencia de Jazz” and feature some of the best latin music players in the city. There is ample dance space and I think some of your fabunola people would enjoy hearing us. We would really love to see you there. Thanks
    Dave Phy
